The brief for this master bedroom was to create a calm sanctuary for the clients to relax in as well as create a dedicated dressing table area. The main focal point of the room is the large windows overlooking views of the countryside. Previously the room had been painted in a cold blue on the lower half of the walls with a brilliant white on the vaulted ceiling. As the room is North facing the blue North light left the room feeling cold and uninviting. By highlighting the angles of the room with the different paint colours the eye was being drawn from the views rather than the scheme framing and complimenting it. Therefore the room was colour drenched in a calming neutral with a palette taken from the views beyond. The existing furniture was painted and a dressing table was adapted to fit in front of the window.
